Never Once

Never once have I –ever-
Thought of you other
Than my equal.
Set aside by my choice
Only to walk a maelstrom of indecision all
Giving way to an unknowable depth of loss on

A journey I never knew I could carry
Toward my future I saw but never envisioned as if
My gaze stepped-over ceilings that never stopped
As all that thought manifests beneath my earthen feet
Sentient as I am amid a panic of painstakingly, heartbreaking
Mention of you – and I place your heart inside mine like a

Steam of fog gathering once more bearing
Gates of Dreams you who dreams a stairway of flaxen
Vision unfolding before my eyes her eyes seeing me
As the Embrace of all our time together in this place
The imperfections of which I cannot name but a few like
Those innocent enough to know
what our truth reveals just before dawn

Snow Silence

Within our journey
She smiled in snow silence,
Crème-color time;
She seeking warmth
I accompany her
And obey her commands
For her words are powered
With Royal Emotion.
She waves her metallic scepter
As I kneel in adoration
(I her knight she my Queen,
Woman of wonder, Silver love)
Now I must bid her farewell:
She must travel to a distant land
Where the King of Destiny
Awaits her arrival
We have shared segments
Of life once again
As we did centuries ago.
I must watch her
Leave again.

Mandala

Got caught yesterday above the Sun’s lining
That uneven flow of Now breathing past
Myself as ambush of memories spill
Like the smell of summer’s first cut grass
Invariably those memories catalyze
A thousand scents of you
That pungent incense of our love
Crossed with the sky’s blue-sweet air
They tumble throughout a natural
Frame a presage of this lasting image of us
While carousel of life’s mandala carries
Me from the wreckage of those memories
Places me high above your symbol of living
In a love so pro-found it becomes
Memory of Eternity that seeks courage
Walking towards you just to say hello
One more step towards you is all I’ve ever sought
Among the same untold catch of memories
That lay on the grace of tomorrow’s doorstep
Perfumes of you I’d gladly walk into
As I breach the sun’s cloth of light that loving light of you.

Speaking with Angels

The cadence of my life is the heartbeat
Of your mountains and the echoes of my time
I am the infinite downpour of your love
That lay in the beauty of this world of my soul
Where I am the notion of a change in the winds
Of your sight and the sounds of your truth
All gathered and seated over the goodness of the hearth
Of your abundance beside vast lakes of joy
And I flourish and radiate well within the acres
Of my lives with all my doubts expand like an opus
Your precious majesty not unlike the days that
Unfold just like a lullaby a silent emerging
Of my being breathing in the Light of your warmth
Like the grace of the day I was born from you
And I thank you for my days and for my journeys
Thankful beyond these words so I am speechless
I am without recourse in my obligation to you so
I implore you allow me to find the ways to return
This love that I have felt that has been unyielding in
Its unbound nature and immeasurable freedom
For I am honored forever humbled by your gift
I will find the fortune that is mine and come home to you.

The Dreams

I’ve just been in a place
I’ve never seen before
My memory recorded scenes
From which its repertoire is my life
I spoke with people who are miles away
And sensed the truth of their own words within
Knowing the distance involved
My mind is a movie
It reels off life I’ve never imagined
Which it couldn’t possibly make true
In the reality of my present consciousness
And yet directs its own truth
With impeccable quality and finesse
Rendering the subconscious open for
A counter‑mesh of life‑on‑life
Pre‑cognition features
Based on déjà vu’s and flash‑backs
Where the settings are as real as
These words you read
Uncut and virgin
The mind‑film never edits
Nor re‑writes the screenplay
For actors randomly cast for
Such is the reality of a dream
The review for which the critic
Is me

Beginning

       1.
Passages sequel the reveal inside time
Segues the fold of now where I am found
As a Decision casts shadow toward my self
Becomes the light without depth into night
Before I go on I am caught by that light
Passing each night by the choice of desire
Only to be released by love of Life
Enfolding me with angelic embrace
Healing me beyond my only recollection of
Each day before I was born
Wherein time began so I know you
Do not know me and I barely know you
But I am drawn to you and
Without question I am pulled forward
A magnetic force draws me to you
For reasons I am still learning of
Call me crazy if you want but
I can no longer remain silent
There are only these truths I know
To be of a kind and calming nature
Where you and I are caught between
This moment and the chance to find out why
I cannot harness the power of
My Heart’s promise – promise of love
But I can witness the birth of
Its joy – the joy of knowing

          2.
If I were to look upon the open sky
I would see you in every shade of blue
If I were to gaze upon the endless ocean
I would see you in every wave and wake
I cannot remember the last time I
Have set the sail of my Heart onto open seas
There is no hold big enough to catch
The weight of my sadness . . .
And yet it is the motion of the water
That catches me, allows me to move downstream
To the depths of your Heart your open
Arms your unconditional love.

          3.
Landfall came quickly on my journey to you
Being a castaway on my own ship of fears
Each step I take releases me allows my
Hopes to foster the sun along each ray
So little time except to say
What is really on my mind
Just to walk outside my door brings me
Closer to you your unshielded truth
All the words I could ever write will not
Stop me from finding you

Wanting

There are miles between us
I know not the answer to our distance

Yet taste the closeness of our souls
I find time unable to keep

Remembrances to mere image
Thus feel you inside me still.

There has been an establishment (of us)
A form in which no logic can apply

We are the advantage of ourselves
In a limitation that boasts no walls

Caught in mid‑flight

On a touch we never finished

While the wonder of the wind remains
Leaving us together

Leaving you and I alone
Waiting for return

So familiar to our hearts

A Dream of Dreaming

In between conscience and obliteration
There lies a realm not unlike right now
Favored in light yet mahogany to the touch
Its character lost on the rocks of fear

This aspect of my location in time on which
The very drift of your stellar shores abide
Are bridled by the look you’ve borne my way
Sending me dreams in states unmoored by its

Station your place inside me all but ruined
Blanketed with steel like time’s open doors
Over a threshold of petrified thought you’ve
Shown me again and again over and over

While I castigate the memory of this perception
In a slip-line of time across the fanfare of my
Heart I tumble across your patience that cannot
Wait any longer I cannot wait to hold you in my arms

Canvas

Create out of scale
Just beside the measure of time
Be at once alone and forgiven
Should there be any doubt

Canvas and apply in mosaic for me
So my memory of you is soft as
Nothing like silent glass in rows
Like suburbs near Detroit

And just in case I cannot see you
I’ve fallen into justice as I am
Come for me urgent like a lost
Crease in fine silk where

Tomorrow sets pace inside you
Showering snowset on the lip of today
As caution rains on noble mountains
Upending acres of vaulted mention
Of you

Season

Winter is the snow‑cold white
Ice‑clear emotion I stand on
Ending tears of crystal thought
You are
Summer like blue on
The days yellow warmth
And distance is the image I retrieve
From the grasp I once lost
On a grip of fear as
Autumn‑bound time
Tears out the feeling of an intention:
To mix the thoughts to a song‑painting
In 7/4 and never finish the instrumental
Just play the sensations color
Like a never‑ending flight
To Alpha Centauri
In star‑light time
Like frosted sunlight
Like the Spring smells
Of a wind‑time romance
In destiny‑wrought human forgiveness
You pause for a moment . . .
And laugh
